Things To Do In Lake Maggiore

Local Attractions & What To Do In Piemonte

Overlooking Lake Maggiore in Italy’s scenic Piemonte region, Castello Dal Pozzo offers immediate access to the best activities, attractions and places to visit in the region.

Lake Maggiore, or Verbano as it was once known, is a glacial pre-alpine lake and the second largest lake in Italy. It is without doubt one of the most frequented tourist destinations in Italy. Over the ages, world-renowned writers and poets such as Dickens, Stendhal, Hemingway and Flaubert have all drawn inspiration from its sparkling waters. The entire area can be likened to a treasure trove, just waiting to be discovered; palaces, botanical gardens, stately homes and secular parks, the magnificent Rocca Borromeo Islands as well as all the other delightful corners dotted around Lake Maggiore.

Just moments from Lake Orta, Stresa, and Arona, Castello Dal Pozzo presents guests with a wide range of things to do. Tee off on one of the Piemonte region’s many golf courses, embark on a boating tour or wine tour adventure or take the Panoramic Minitrain Arona tour. Explore the Parco del Ticino, a UNESCO Heritage site, or spend the day water skiing, swimming, or hiking and biking in the mountains. Nearby shopping opportunities include the fashion outlets LoroPiana in Romangano and Zenga in Oleggio, along with day trips into Milan.
