Lake Maggiore, thanks to its microclimate, is surrounded by luxuriant vegetation.

courses along its shores, all of which offer the golfing enthusiast a range of

Lake from Novara to Ascona in Switzerland.
Arriving from Milan there are 4 different courses, Golf Club Le Robinie, Golf
Club Arona, Golf Club Castelconturbia and Golf Club Bogogno.
Between Stresa and Lake Orta lie the Golf Club Alpino at Gignese and Des Iles
Borromee up above Stresa, with spectacular views over the Lake and the Islands.
Continuing north along the Lake there is the Golf Club Verbania on Lake Mergozzo
and Golf Club PiandiSole at the entrance to the Val Grande National Park, Europe’s
last extensive Wilderness Area.

GOLF CLUB ALPINO - STRESA :In the immediate hinterland of Stresa and designed by Peter Gannon, the club
hosted the first three editions of the Italian Open. Despite being on a hill,
only the initial holes were designed to follow the contours. The remaining holes
are all on the level. The 6th hole is a par 5 on the first round and a par 4 on
the second,made even more difficult as it is at the limit of the maximum 420mt
permitted.. The 8th hole is complicated as the second shot is usually played
with the feet placed higher than the ball. The green at the 7th hole is deadly.
